Though the weather was horrific at this event, tipping it down with rain, cold, wet and damp. I really enjoyed this race, the temperature was good at 16.5 degrees C and I was comfortable swimming. The swim was four laps of a course at the rowing lake at Eton with plenty of chances for feeds on the way. This swim was the first time I've been in over 2 hours this season and when I got out, I didn't shiver like I usually do, just made sure I got my dry robe on quickly and something warm to eat and drink. Although the time wasn't quite what I had hoped for at 02:43.01 (wanted to be much closer to 02:20), it was fantastic training and meant I had got a firm start to the summer season.
